Community
Being involved in our community – both locally and internationally – is a value for all of us at Leitner Construction. We seek to use our talents and influence to better the world around us, from building your home to building a home for those in need.
Honduras
Tim and Jill have close ties with a missionary from Honduras in Central America. They have led multiple teams of youths and adults to help the people there. On one trip, they helped build a home for orphaned boys. Learn more at: www.jesuslovesthelittlechildren.org.
Nicaragua
In 2008, Leitner construction joined a Nicaraguan pastor and his family in reaching out to impoverished people living in the city dump of the country’s capital city, Managua. This ministry’s focus is to bring healing and hope by equipping the community with skills and opportunities for jobs and a life apart from the dump. Casa Havilah is one group rescuing severely abused girls from slavery and prostitution, giving them healing and hope and an education and the chance for a safe and bright future.
Locally
Leitner Construction recently began supporting Garden of Hope, a recovery home for women. Garden of Hope fosters life-changing experiences for women struggling with addictive lifestyles by equipping them with necessary life skills through training, work experiences, and biblical principles. www.gardenofhopeforwomen.org.
For many years, we have also supported My Father’s House, a shelter for homeless families in the Portland area. This shelter is privately funded and assists families with long-term solutions. Read more here: www.mfhshelter.org.
